Course Description
The Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies Certificate at Naropa University is an innovative 8-month, 200-hour program designed to provide post-graduate level training for advanced professionals in relevant therapeutic fields, such as mental health counselling, psychology, medicine, chaplaincy, and social work. The program is deeply rooted in ethics, psychedelic justice, and Indigenous reciprocity, and is committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion across the curriculum.
Combining online and intensive retreat-based learning, participants will gain foundational competencies in MDMA, ketamine, and psilocybin therapies, with guidance from distinguished Naropa faculty and leading experts. The program focuses on community building, contemplative practice training, and a deep understanding of the therapeutic approach through role-plays, didactic training, group discussions, and observing video sessions from MDMA clinical trials.
As a pioneer in contemplative education, Naropa University is uniquely positioned to offer this experiential, mindfulness-infused, and socially engaged program. Trainees will also gain a deep grounding in principles of social justice, the historical roots of Indigenous plant medicine practices, and the strong relationship between healing and spirituality.
