The course is open to professionals with a medical or graduate degree in psychology, counselling psychology, or a closely related field. It offers comprehensive theoretical and practical insights, including the history of clinical research in psychedelic therapy, neurobiology, neuropharmacology, models of consciousness, and therapeutic relationship. Applicants with personal or professional psychedelic experience or palliative care experience are especially welcome.
This intensive program spans over 146 hours, incorporating in-person training seminars, self-paced readings, videos, a personal psychedelic experience, and supervised clinical practice. Additional modules on ethics, music training, Indigenous teachings, and neuropharmacology are included to support a well-rounded understanding. Participants must complete a daily learning journal, maintaining reflections on their progress and understanding, which the trainer will assess. The course culminates with an individualized assessment session with the faculty, following which successful trainees are awarded a certificate of completion and Clinical Associate status with TheraPsil. This enriching program prioritizes high-quality training, ensuring each graduate is thoroughly prepared to provide effective and empathetic psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy.
