Vancouver Island University (VIU) is a reputable public university situated on the west coast of Canada, with campuses hosted on the traditional territories of the Snuneymuxw, Quw’utsun, Tla’amin, Snaw-naw-as and Qualicum First Nations. With a rich history that traces back to its establishment as the Dominion-Provincial Youth Training Centre in 1938, VIU has evolved to offer more than 120 academic programs, encompassing graduate and undergraduate degrees, trades diplomas, and certificates. Hosting a diverse student body of 12,000, of which 12% are Indigenous and 12% international, along with about 1,500 faculty and staff, VIU is recognized for excellence in teaching, innovative research, and fostering an inclusive community that prepares its students for success in various life aspects
