Course Description

Introduction to Psychedelic Music Therapy is a course taught by Joel Olive. The course will be conducted online and will be in Spanish and translated into English. The course explores the theoretical and practical uses of archaic instruments and aspects of trance and integration processes in psychedelic therapy.

The course aims to provide an understanding of how the use of music to induce altered states of consciousness can benefit individuals and the collective of humanity. The course will cover topics such as the origins of music therapy, altered states of consciousness through different instruments, the brain waves in trance-induced altered states of consciousness, the basic musical aspects of archaic instruments, the transpersonality and transculturality of archaic instruments, the relationship between psychotherapy and shamanism, and the guidelines and tools for integrating these techniques into daily life.

By participating in this course, students are expected to learn about archaic instruments and their possible therapeutic scope, understand how the states of deep relaxation induced in the sound journey can benefit them, understand how perinatal matrices are related to the sound archetypes of archaic instruments, and know how to apply these techniques in their day-to-day life.
