The Ayahuasca The Basics for Therapists course provides foundational knowledge for clinicians interested in understanding and integrating ayahuasca experiences into their practice. This program covers the historical, cultural, and pharmacological aspects of ayahuasca, as well as its therapeutic potential and risks. Participants engage in live online sessions, interactive discussions, and case studies to explore the ethical and practical considerations of working with clients who use ayahuasca.

Over several weeks, the course delves into preparation, support during experiences, and post-ceremony integration, emphasizing a holistic and informed approach. Participants will learn about the traditional contexts of ayahuasca use, contemporary applications, and the latest research findings. The course aims to equip therapists with the skills and knowledge to provide effective support to clients incorporating ayahuasca into their therapeutic journey.

About Instructor

Tatayo (“Fruit of the Wind”) first arrived in Gabon in 1971 at the age of 21 and became a Gabonese citizen. In 1979, he became the first white person to be initiated into the Bwiti Fang tradition in Gabon. In 1994, he was initiated into the Misokko tradition. As a guide for numerous expeditions and missions, including those of National Geographic, the BBC, and others, Tatayo is considered to have “opened the door” to westerners in Gabon.
