Course Description

The Psilocybin Therapy 101: The Foundation is a 120-hour facilitator training course, with a 40-hour practicum. Cohorts are held every quarter. This is an experiential learning and discovery course where students dive deeply into the foundations of Psilocybin Therapy Facilitation.

The curriculum includes the history, ceremony, magic, science, research, rules, laws, best practices, trauma, trauma-informed care, cultural awareness, research, neuroscience, breathwork, meditation, history taking, pharmacology, dosing, facilitation techniques, administration, group work, practicum, and integration. The program is an inward and outward journey of love, exploration, self-acceptance, connection, healing and integration, and it embodies all of the components necessary to become a competent and compassionate Psilocybin Facilitator.

The classes are held in person in Ashland, OR and on Zoom. Oregon Psilocybin Services approved the program.

  • Various branches of Missoko initiation:
    • Miobe/Mioba
    • Ngonde Na Dipuma

  • The impact of logging on the tradition
  • What the future of Bwiti could look like in Gabon

You will learn:

  • History of Dissumba
  • Various branches of Dissumba initiation:
    • Abanji/Mabanji
    • Ilombo
    • Ombwiri
    • Ombudi
    • Loro
  • The ngombe (sacred harp)
  • Healing rituals involved in her tradition

About Instructor

Tatayo (“Fruit of the Wind”) first arrived in Gabon in 1971 at the age of 21 and became a Gabonese citizen. In 1979, he became the first white person to be initiated into the Bwiti Fang tradition in Gabon. In 1994, he was initiated into the Misokko tradition. As a guide for numerous expeditions and missions, including those of National Geographic, the BBC, and others, Tatayo is considered to have “opened the door” to westerners in Gabon.
