Course Description
The MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology at Alef Trust is a 3-year online distance-learning program accredited by Liverpool John Moores University. The program starts on September 2023, and the students can complete their studies after gaining 60 credits in year 1 for a postgraduate certificate, or 120 credits by the end of year 2 for a postgraduate diploma. The program is led by the Director of Alef Trust, Professor B. Les Lancaster, and the Academic Dean.
The program provides an intellectually-stimulating curriculum that focuses on diverse topics around the nature of consciousness, the dynamics between psyche and soma, the psychology of self and higher states of being, and the psychological basis of spiritual and mystical practices. It values experiential approaches to learning and encourages students to incorporate insights from the program into their life journeys. In addition to the academic curriculum, the program includes modules exploring integral life practice, transpersonal approaches to research, and a research dissertation focusing on the practical application of learning.
The Alef Trust learning community is at the heart of the program. Students have their own personal and unique experiences, yet are also part of something greater. The community includes students from other certificate courses, open learners, and a growing body of alumni. The community is focused on co-creating a healthy microcosm to inform the macrocosm, and the program aims to welcome students into this broader community. The program is designed to support students in their academic and personal journey, to help them to achieve their full potential.
